Nintendo has announced a new product. The bad news is, it’s not the Switch 2 but an alarm clock called the Sound Clock: Alarmo.
“Ever wish that you could wake up in one of the playful worlds from Nintendo? Well, it’s time to stop dreaming! Introducing Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo – an interactive alarm clock designed to add some Nintendo charm to your home and your daily routine.”
If it wasn’t already obvious, Alarmo is an alarm clock but more precisely, it’s a clock that plays tunes from your library of games. And like all alarm clocks, the device can be tweaked to play music gently or in laddered tones, with each tone getting louder in intervals the longer you stay in bed.
The Alarmo also has built-in motion sensors, meaning that simply getting out of bed can either set it to snooze or turn it off completely. Of course, as this is a Nintendo device, you could set it so that it responds to motion with different game sounds. For example, the sound of coins being collected from the Super Mario games.
The Nintendo Sound Clock: Alarmo will go on sale globally from early 2025 onwards, while fans within the US and Canada are able to purchase it right now for US$99.99 (~RM429).
