Maxis is currently offering free permanent quota upgrades for select postpaid plans for a limited time. This new promotion, which was first pointed out by Lowyat.NET forum members, is applicable to both new and existing users of the telco, starting today on 9 October 2024 until 16 January 2025.
According to Maxis’ FAQ page, plans that are eligible include Postpaid 79, Postpaid 109, Postpaid 139, Postpaid 169, and Postpaid 199. With the exception of the first, which will see a quota upgrade from 80GB 4G/5G + 80GB 5G only to 300GB flat, users of the aforementioned are entitled to receive unlimited 4G/5G data quota. The upgrades are permanent, but note that the unlimited quotas are subject to the telco’s Fair Usage Policy (FUP).
Maxis adds that new signups will enjoy the limited-time upgrade immediately, while existing users will see the change done automatically between 9 October to 5 November 2024. The telco assures that charges for each plan mentioned are unchanged after receiving the quota upgrade.
Unfortunately, those on Postpaid 98 or below are not eligible for this promotion. Maxis also notes that sign-ups that are done after the limited-time offer will only enjoy the default quota limit for each plan. To refresh, Postpaid 79 offers 80GB 4G/5G + 80GB 5G only outside of this promotion, while Postpaid 109 offers 100GB 4G/5G + 200GB 5G, Postpaid 139 at 120GB 4G/5G + 360GB 5G, Postpaid 169 at 150GB 4G/5G + 600GB 5G only, and Postpaid 199 at 200GB 4G/5G + 1000GB 5G only.
As pointed out by our forum members, the quota upgrade also applies to users of the aforementioned postpaid plans who are also on Maxis Postpaid Share. However, you’re required to change the latter’s settings manually via the telco’s website or official mobile app, by navigating to the Manage Datapool setting.
