The hugely successful Red Dead Redemption 2 got its PC port just a year after its initial console release. The original game wasn’t quite as lucky. Or rather, those hoping to play it on PC weren’t. That finally changes at the end of the month, as Rockstar Games announces that the first Red Dead Redemption is finally coming to PC on 29 October.
Helping with the port is developer Double Eleven, with some added PC enhancements as you’d expect. This includes things like 4K resolution and 144Hz support, though no unlocked frame rates. Also supported is HDR 10, as well as aspect ratios of 21:9 and 32:9. Then there’s Nvidia DLSS 3.7 and AMD FSR 3 upscaling tech, as well as the former’s Frame Generation.
Of course, by today’ standards, no Red Dead Redemption experience would be complete without the Undead Nightmare standalone expansion. Worry not, as this is also included in the package.
Red Dead Redemption will be hitting PCs at the end of the month by way of Steam, the Epic Games Store, as well as the publisher’s own Rockstar Store. For now, only the Epic Games Store has the price of the game listed, which is RM219. Also worth noting though that this comes a year after the game was made available for the PS4 and the Nintendo Switch.
