vivo’s VP, Jia Jingdong, recently posted the vivo X200 smartphone series on Weibo, sharing images and details about the X200 Pro and X200 Pro mini. These devices will feature a flat surface design, referred to as a “full-depth micro-quadruple design,” with expectations that the standard X200 will share the same design language as well.
The entire series will be powered by the Dimensity 9400 chipset. Additionally, vivo claims to have made significant improvements in its semi-solid battery, and that it will have the highest energy density in the industry.
In terms of the camera, both the X200 Pro and Pro mini will have a new 1/1.28-inch sensor co-developed with Sony. The Pro will also include a 200MP 85mm periscope zoom lens, while the Pro mini will feature a 70mm periscope camera. For video features, the series will offer slow motion in 4K at 120fps as well as backlit movie portrait video, with the company’s VP claiming it the industry’s strongest exposure control technology.
The X200 Pro models will support 10-bit colour grading for video recording. They also include a new 135mm portrait mode lens to go along with its focal lengths of 24mm, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, and 100mm.
The series will launch this year on 14 October and will be available in a wide array of colours. At the time of writing this, their official price or local availability are still unknown.
