The Malaysian government is now looking to populate key leadership positions within the National AI Office (NAIO). Officiated in 28 August this year, the government body was approved by the Cabinet to be a key AI player within ASEAN and the wider world economy.
“NAIO aims to enhance the country’s AI capabilities by fostering innovation, promoting cross-sector collaboration, and supporting the integration of AI into government, industry, and societal frameworks. This office will spearhead initiatives that leverage AI to strengthen the digital economy, improve public services, and contribute to sustainable development goals.”
“In its early stages, NAIO will operate under the guidance of MyDIGITAL Corporation, a government agency tasked with overseeing Malaysia’s digital transformation efforts, before its official launch in November 2024. NAIO will be a key driver in advancing Malaysia’s AI infrastructure, aiming to create a thriving AI ecosystem that encourages AI adoption, research, and commercialisation across various sectors.”

- CEO
- Director AI Policy Lab
- Director of AI Innovation exchange
- Manager of AI Policy and Governance
- Manager of AI Open Innovation
- Executive for the AI Policy Lab Division
- Executive for the AI Innovation Exchange
