Last month, Mark Gurman of Bloomberg reported in his weekly Power On newsletter that a number of Mac devices will be getting refreshed with the M4 chip, with their launch happening in October. More recently, he says that the launch is still set to happen before the end of the month, with the extra detail that Apple will make these available as soon as 1 November.
Among the items said to launch at the very start of next month include both 14- and 16-inch models of the MacBook Pro, the former coming with a “low-end” configuration as well. Then there’s the Mac mini, with the M4 and M4 Pro chips being the available choice of chips. And finally, there’s the M4 iMac.
So far, this list is familiar, as they have been said to be part of an October launch for awhile. What is a slight surprise though is that a refreshed iPad mini, would also be part of the list. To be fair, an iPad model was mentioned to be part of the month’s reveal previously. No word on which chipset Apple will be giving it though.
Beyond what’s coming within what’s left of this year, Gurman also has a list of products that Apple will start the next year with. This includes 13- and 15-inch MacBook Air laptops with M4 chips, refreshed iPad Air models with matching Magic Keyboards, an upgraded AirTag, as well as the iPhone SE 4.
