The NVIDIA App, which was first introduced in February and is currently in beta, is slated to replace the GeForce Experience app by the end of the year. It aims to provide a unified platform for graphical adjustments, featuring newer additions not offered by the existing application, such as the ability to launch GeForce NOW and NVIDIA Broadcast.
The NVIDIA App offers all the functions of GeForce Experience, such as graphical settings adjustments and driver updates, with added features like AI-powered ray-tracing filters. Today, the company has released an update to its app beta, further streamlining GPU management for gamers and content creators. The update brings several significant features, enhancing the app’s usability and performance.
One of the key additions is the introduction of G-SYNC controls, which allows users to fine-tune display settings, such as resolution and refresh rates, directly within the app. NVIDIA also plans to add more features in future updates, including multi-monitor setup and custom resolution options.
Another highlight is the expansion of RTX HDR support, allowing it to work across multiple displays. For the uninitiated, RTX HDR is an AI-powered filter that adds High Dynamic Range (HDR) effects to games without native HDR support and with the current update, users can take advantage of this feature on systems with compatible monitors when using GeForce Game Ready Driver 565.90 or newer.
Responding to user feedback, NVIDIA has introduced a range of new customisation options. Users can now adjust statistics shown in the Heads Up Display (HUD), such as frame rates and system performance, and even change the font colour for better accessibility. Additionally, the app supports game-specific performance settings, along with persistent sorting and filtering of games and apps.
The update also adds a driver rollback feature, allowing users to revert to a previously installed driver, should they encounter issues with newer drivers. Looking ahead, NVIDIA says it plans to integrate more features from its legacy Control Panel into the app and aims to transition all GeForce Experience users to the new platform by the end of the year.
