OPPO is currently gearing up to launch a new flagship smartphone with the Find X8 lineup later this month. While the phone has yet to be unveiled, at least one model is likely be introduced here soon, marking the return of the Find X series to the Malaysian market.
The Find X8 was listed on the SIRIM database on 1 October 2024 with the model number CPH2651, indicating its imminent arrival. Significantly, the brand has not released a Find X smartphone locally since the Find X5 Pro back in 2022. The lineup is predicted to comprise of a vanilla model and a Pro model, although the latter has yet to appear on SIRIM as of writing.
Earlier this week, Zhou Yibao, head of the Find series, confirmed some key specs for the X8. So far, it has been revealed that the phone will sport a flat display, a metal frame, an IP69 rating for dust and water resistance, 50W wireless charging, reverse charging, a physical mute switch, NFC, a bigger battery, and a magnetic wireless charging mechanism similar to Apple’s MagSafe.
According to rumours, the X8 will feature a 6.7-inch 120Hz LTPO OLED display with its own “Dynamic Island” feature, a 5,600mAh battery, and 100W wired charging. It is also expected to be one of the first phones to run on MediaTek’s upcoming Dimensity 9400 chipset. Camera-wise, it will apparently get Hasselblad setup with a 50MP main sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 3x periscope lens.
