Meizu has announced its latest mid-range device, the Lucky 08, with AI capabilities as its main selling point . The device runs on Meizu’s Flyme AI OS, and it includes features such as automatic call answering, call summarization, and an AI shopping assistant that compares prices to find the best deals.
Under the hood, the Lucky 08 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset, with options for 8GB or 12GB RAM and 256GB or 512GB of internal storage. Its Star Track camera system features a 108MP main camera, accompanied by a 2MP macro lens and an LED flash. It’s also equipped with a 6,000 mAh battery that supports 33W charging.
The Lucky 08 boasts a 6.78-inch 8T LTPO AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. It offers a brightness level of up to 1,600 nits globally and 5,000 nits locally, alongside a dedicated outdoor mode for better visibility in sunlight.
The new interface brings in an updated AI assistant that’s capable of handling search queries, analysing documents, and transcribing or summarising voice recordings. Additionally, the power button now serves as a quick access toggle for the AI features.
Available in colours Star White and Meteorite Black, the pricing starts at CNY 1,599 (~RM943) for the 8GB+56GB model and goes up to CNY 2,099 (~RM1,247) for the 12GB+512GB variant, with shipments commencing on 27 September.
