Alongside the 14T series, Xiaomi Malaysia today also officially debuted its first compact foldable smartphone for the local market. A new challenger in this segment, the Xiaomi Mix Flip arrives with a considerably large cover display, dual 50MP main cameras, and performance powered by Qualcomm’s current flagship mobile chipset.
The local configuration for the Xiaomi Mix Flip matches its global counterpart that was announced last night, meaning that we’ll only be getting just one memory option. Another thing we won’t be getting from the original release in China is the special Nylon Fibre version, which is a shame, considering how attractive it looks.
Since we’ve already covered the Mix Flip prior to this, here’s a quick recap. Xiaomi’s new compact foldable phone boasts a 4-inch AMOLED cover screen with a resolution of 1392 x 1208 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and an impressive 3000 nits of peak brightness. The internal display is a foldable 6.86-inch foldable LTPO AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1224 x 2912 pixels, also supporting 120Hz and 3000 nits of brightness. Key features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, a USB-C port, and Android 14 via HyperOS.
Powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, the local version of the Mix Flip offers only 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Additionally, it comes with a 4,780mAh battery supporting 67W charging, while connectivity options include dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.4, and NFC. Last but not least, the phone is equipped with two 50MP cameras on the cover screen, a primary camera and a telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, while a 32MP selfie camera is housed within the internal display’s cutout.
The Xiaomi Mix Flip is available to order in Malaysia now via the brand’s official web store, its Shopee and Lazada stores, as well as authorised retailers nationwide. It is priced at RM4,999, and is available in Purple and Black colourways.
