The Xiaomi 14T Pro has officially launched, along with its base model, the 14T. It features a Leica camera setup, Dolby Vision OLED displays, and quite a user-friendly Android ecosystem. Prior to the launch, Xiaomi provided us with the 14T Pro, allowing us to get an in-depth look.
For starters, it feels more premium, compared to its predecessor, the 13T Pro. The phone’s display measures at 6.67 inches, has a thin layout as well as a lightweight feel. Considering its size, that means it fits snuggly in my pockets. Its design includes a curved glass back with sleek metal-like finishes that complement its sturdy metal frame.
It also has a 6.67-inch CrystalRes AMOLED display, the same as the 13T Pro, including a 1220p (1220 x 2712) resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, and 12-bit colour depth. However, this year’s model boasts a peak brightness of up to 4,000 nits. It also retains an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance to ensure durability. In terms of battery performance, the 14T Pro houses a 5,000mAh battery, supporting 120W wired charging as well as 50W wireless charging.
In my short time with it, launching and running apps with the phone’s integrated Dimensity 9300+ chipset was seamless. It’s a fluid UI experience, with updated cores and improved graphics capabilities, enhancing my overall use when it came to mobile gaming and video configuration. We should also mention that the device runs on the latest version of Android and Xiaomi’s HyperOS, featuring some AI capabilities including Google Gemini.
One thing that I’ve been looking forward to is the camera setup, as it’s co-engineered with Leica. The camera system on the 14T Pro has a robust triple Leica camera setup, featuring a 50MP wide main, a 50MP telephoto lens offering 2.6x zoom, and a 12MP ultrawide camera. Notably, the front camera has been upgraded to 32MP, up from 20MP, and it does produce some clear selfies overall. Additionally, if you’re ever outside wanting to take a picture while it’s looking gloomy, HDR lighting will automatically be enabled, rendering a better image when under ambient lighting.
While the 14T Pro may not represent a radical departure from the 13T Pro, its design has been refined for a more premium feel. The colour options – Titan Gray, Titan Blue, and Titan Black – give the smartphone a very sophisticated look, even if it isn’t actually real titanium. Overall, the Xiaomi 14T Pro is a well-built and well-designed device that offers a compelling mix of Android and camera features.
The Xiaomi 14T Pro launches in Malaysia today, starting with storage units of 256GB with 12GB RAM, 512GB with 12 RAM, and 1TB with 12GB RAM. The colour options are as mentioned and will be available on Xiaomi’s official Malaysia website as well as Lazada and Shopee with prices starting at RM2,599, RM2,999, and RM3,499.
