The DJI Osmo Action 5 Pro officially launched in Malaysia today. As per our earlier report, pricing for the action camera starts at RM1,799 for the Standard Combo and tops out at RM2,289 for the Adventure Combo.
As a quick primer, the DJI Action 5 Pro and its chassis design is a repeat performance, closely mimicking the looks of its predecessor, save for a textured body and larger OLED displays, with a peak brightness of 1,000 nits. Other improvements include waterproofing of up to 20 metres, built-in storage of 47GB, DJI Mic 2 compatibility, a built-in pressure sensor, and the usual wireless connectivity options. Including Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth, and USB 3.0 connectivity.
The camera of the DJI Action 5 Pro uses a 1/1.3-inch sensor, capable of capturing 40MP stills, and even has a 13.5-stop dynamic range, giving it the ability to record 4K video at 120 fps, in 4:3 aspect ratio, as well as 960 fps slow-motion by capturing and using intelligent frame generation to create extra frames.
As an extra added bonus, DJI also demoed its new tiny and light FPV drone, the Neo. To quickly recap, the Neo weighs in at just 139g, and has a 1/2-inch sensor capable of capturing 12MP photos and 4K videos at 30 fps. Additionally, it also has an internal storage capacity of 22GB.
In terms of endurance, the DJI Neo has a battery life of 18 minutes of continuous flight and can reach heights of up to 2km but can maintain a connection of up to 5km away from the operator. The miniature drone is available now and is priced at RM869.
