vivo is preparing to launch an updated version of the V40 Lite. While we’ve yet to receive this latest model, there’s an indication that it may soon debut in Malaysia under a different model number. The mid-range smartphone has already obtained its SIRIM certification, suggesting that its arrival is imminent.
The V40 Lite appeared on the SIRIM listing on 10 September with the model number V2417, which indicates the vivo Y200 for some odd reason. It was initially released on 14 July this year and since then, Vivo has already made a newer version of it that features AI Aura Light and 80W charging which is going to launch in just a few days.
The smartphone sports a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, running on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset and powered by a 5,500mAh battery. The original V40 Lite only sports 44W charging but has higher battery power compared to its newer version which only sits at 5,000mAh. Storage-wise, it comes up to 256GB with 8GB of RAM, and software-wise, it will ship with Android 14 out of the box.
In terms of exteriors, it weighs 179g with dimensions of 6.47 x 2.94 inches. Additionally, it has an IP64 rating for water and dust resistance. It also features a 50MP main camera and an 8MP ultra-wide shooter, along with a 32MP shooter on the frontal side. For video, it does support both 4K and 1080p quality at 30fps.
The device will likely arrive with two different colour options – Classy Brown and Dreamy White. Its price tag in Europe goes for EUR448.31 (~RM2,101) but, as of right now, we are yet to confirm its official Malaysian pricing and arrival date.
