DJI released a teaser video following its reveal of the Osmo Action 5 Pro camera. The camera was first leaked back in July via OsitaLV on X (formerly Twitter). However, there’s now a teaser campaign using the tagline “A Pro Rises,” suggesting that it could be the Osmo Action 4’s successor, but now with some upgrades.
The teaser video showcases high-adrenaline sequences and even hints at a large rear OLED display along with a more ergonomic design, similar to the preceding model, just with a new chassis. Additionally, the Osmo Action 5 Pro is anticipated to offer electronic subject tracking, which displays smoother and centred footage of moving subjects without the need for a gimbal.

Initial leaks have also suggested that it the action camera will sport a 1/1.3-inch f/2.8 sensor and a 155° field of view (FoV). It’s also been rumoured to feature 4K video at 120 fps with a 4:3 aspect ratio and 40 MP still photography. This could make it more ideal for capturing dynamic and detailed footage in various weather conditions.
The Osmo Action 5 Pro might also introduce a 10-bit D-Log M colour profile for direct colour correction, along with a new CMOS sensor that’s rumoured to have a 2.4 µm pixel size. However, despite all this, we can only anticipate the camera to launch on 19 September, with more details to be revealed at its official launch event.
