OPPO Malaysia has officially confirmed the arrival of its entry-level smartphone, the OPPO A3, which was already revealed ahead of time by local distributors last week. In case you missed our prior coverage, the phone is positioned between the brand’s A3x and the A3 Pro models, sharing the former’s processor and the latter’s imaging setup.
To recap, the OPPO A3 sports a 6.67-inch LCD display with 720 x 1604 pixel resolution, a refresh rate of 90Hz, touch sampling rate of 180Hz, and a peak brightness of 1,000 nits. On the durability side, the phone comes with an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance, as well as shock resistance and Panda glass. It also comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a USB-C 2.0 port, loudspeaker, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Under the hood, the phone runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 1 chip, which is paired with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of internal storage. Its battery has a 5,100mAh capacity, along with 45W fast charging support. Connectivity-wise, it supports 4G, Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 5, and NFC.
In terms of imaging, the A3 features a dual camera setup on its back, comprising a 50MP primary sensor that’s paired with an auxiliary lens. Meanwhile, housed within the punch-hole cutout on its display is a 5MP selfie camera.
Available today via the brand’s official physical and online stores as well as authorised partners, the new OPPO A3 is priced at RM699 for the 8GB+128GB configuration and RM799 for 8GB+256GB. For the local market, the phone is offered in two colour options: Starlight White and Sparkle Black.
