Infinix seems to gearing up to launch at least two new smartphones in the Malaysian market, namely the Smart 9 and Hot 50i. Neither phones have actually been announced yet, but they have already been certified by SIRIM, which indicates that the brand will be launching them here in the near future.
The Smart 9 was listed on the SIRIM database on 9 September 2024 with the model number X6532. Meanwhile, the Hot 50i gained approval on 5 September 2024 with the model number X65318. While nothing has been revealed about the latter, the brand did debut the Hot 50 in India last week, and judging from the name, the 50i is likely to be a stripped-down version of the new offering.
For reference, the Hot 50 sports a 6.7-inch 720 LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate, along with an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance. Under the hood, it runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It is fitted with a 48MP camera and is powered by a 5,000mAh battery that supports 18W charging.
As for the Smart 9’s predecessor, the Smart 8, it has a 6.6-inch 720p screen with a 90Hz refresh rate and runs on a Unisoc T606 chip. It retailed for only RM299, so we can expect the upcoming phone to be offered with a similar price tag.
