GoPro is officially launching the Hero and Hero13 Black action cameras in the country today. The launch comes less than a week after the brand opened up preorders for the miniature action camera.
To quickly recap, the Hero is the brand’s smallest action camera of the two, weighing in at just 86 grams. While it lacks a front-facing display, it features HyperSmooth stabilisation, 2x slow motion at 2.7K resolution, and a 16:9 aspect ratio. The Hero’s battery can last up to 100 minutes on a single charge, and it is waterproof down to 16 feet.
For the Hero13 Black, it is powered by a new 1,900mAh Enduro battery, with a promise to deliver a 58% increase in runtime at 2.7K resolution and 120 frames per second (fps). In addition, 5.3K resolution at 60fps lasts 38% longer, while 4K at 60fps sees a 28% boost, and 1080p at 240fps enjoys a 39% increase. To put that in another way, that is up to 1.5 hours of continuous recording at 4K30 or 5.3K30 settings, while HD-quality 1080p30 provides over 2.5 hours of footage.
And to say nothing of the lens attachments for the Go Pro Hero13 Black, which include the ultrawide, macro, and anamorphic lenses. There are also the ND filters that automatically communicate with the action camera and adjusts accordingly.
The GoPro Hero and Hero13 Black will retail at respective SRPs of RM999 and RM1,999. With regards to the latter action camera, the brand is also offering a Creator’s Kit with all the relevant accessories for RM3,199.
As for availability, the Hero will be available from 22 September onwards, while the Hero13 Black is available starting today via authorised resellers.
