The Glowtime event, that’s coming in slightly over 12 hours at the time of writing, is expected to see not only the next iPhones get launched, but also the AirPods and the Apple Watch Series 10. That last one on the list is getting a new health-related feature to be added to the already extensive list. This comes in the form of sleep apnea detection.
Bloomberg reports that the next generation Apple Watch will be able to detect if wearers suffer from the condition that causes them to have interrupted breathing while they sleep. That being said, it won’t be a feature that will be available on the day they become available for purchase.
9to5Mac has corroborated the report citing its own sources, adding that wearers will have to be wearing the Apple Watch Series 10 for a few nights before insights on sleep apnea become available. This report also notes that the Apple Watch Ultra 3, when it does get announced, will also be getting “the same improvements”, which should go without saying.
Other details about the upcoming Apple Watch Series 10 include better water resistance, but not quite matching the Ultra line. Despite this, the improved water resistance will also allow it to make use of the Depth app, which was previously exclusive to the Ultra. Older rumours point to the smartwatch getting an upsize, with the larger option nearly matching that of the aforementioned premium model.
