Lenovo is expanding its laptop lineup with its new Aura edition laptops. These include the new ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 and the Yoga Slim 7i. The Aura software, developed in collaboration with Intel, allows these laptops to switch between various modes designed to work around specific tasks, such as secure internet browsing, improved video call quality, and distraction-free work environments.
The ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 Aura Edition offers a 14-inch OLED display with a 2.8K resolution (2880×1800) and a 120Hz refresh rate. It features DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification and can reach a brightness of 400 nits. Powered by Intel’s latest Lunar Lake CPU and Arc Xe2 GPU cores, it also includes a 57Wh battery that’s also replaceable.
The Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition is slightly larger at 15.3 inches and has a 2.8K resolution display with a choice between OLED or LCD touch panels. The display supports a 120Hz refresh rate and has a brightness of 500 nits. It’s also equipped with the Intel Core Ultra 7 processor and integrated graphics, featuring a 70Wh battery that supports extended use for activities like web browsing and streaming.
As Aura Edition laptops, both the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 and the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i feature advanced “Smart Modes” that adjust the laptop’s performance for tasks such as Shield, Attention, Collaboration, and Wellness. Each mode is accessible through simple widgets, optimising performance and AI capabilities for various activities and other user needs.
The laptops also include “Smart Share”, which allows for easy photo transfers between smartphones and laptops using AI technology. Users can quickly drag and drop recent photos between devices, with support for both iOS and Android. It also has “Smart Care” that provides enhanced support through Lenovo’s online tools and chatbot. Premier Support Plus offers 24/7 access to expert help via voice or chat, including remote camera sharing.
