As previously teased, DJI has officially launched its latest drone, the DJI Neo. The new product is a compact, palm-sized drone that weighs 139g that’s designed for vloggers and everyday users. It also features the ability to be launched and landed directly from your hand.
The DJI Neo is equipped with a protective cover to prevent accidental injuries while handling, and it also has level 4 wind resistance. The camera system includes a 1/2-inch sensor, capturing 12MP photos and 4K videos at 30FPS. Also onboard is an internal storage capacity of 22GB to store said photos and videos.
You can choose to control it solely via a smartphone, which is great for those who wish to purchase the drone on its own rather than the Fly More combo, which includes a remote controller. Additionally, you can attach a DJI Mic 2 to it, allowing for audio to be recorded along with video.
The drone is capable of flying for 18 minutes on a single charge, reaching heights of up to 2000 metres and maintaining control up to 5km away from the operator. Safety features such as automatic return to home ensure that the drone can safely navigate back to its take-off point when necessary.
In Malaysia, the DJI Neo is priced at RM869 on its own, while there’s also a Fly More Combo for RM1,529 if you wish to include additional accessories with it. The latter comes with the controller that was mentioned earlier, as well as three extra batteries, a charging dock, two replacement fans, a data cable and a gimbal protector. Based on the drone’s listing on DJI Malaysia’s online store on Shopee, it appears that only the Fly More Combo is available for purchase at this time.
