In conjunction with the launch of Intel’s new Lunar Lake laptop CPUs, we had expected MSI to announce the Claw 8 AI+, the follow-up to its less-than-stellar performing Claw that we took revisited earlier in the year. Sadly, the PC brand simply told us not to expect the console to ship out until the first quarter of next year.
And that’s was it. Beyond that little messaged passed on to us in the halls of IFA 2024, the brand wasn’t able to provide us with any further details about the Claw 8 AI+, particularly which Lunar Lake CPU that it plans on using. While it is purely speculation on our part at this point, the hesitation could be due to the fact that, depending on the SKU, the new handheld could ship out with either 16GB or 32GB LPDDR5X RAM.
Another thing that MSI told our writer was that, despite the rest of the hardware that we could expect of the Claw 8 AI+, there are apparently still not final. That is odd, especially since the slide presented to us during the sneak peek looked more final. Case in point, some of the pictures in the embedded gallery shows the extra Thunderbolt 4 port, as well as the revamped MSI Center 2.0.
In any case, it clear that MSI won’t be passing us sample units to test out, at least until next year.
