The Emberton III was not the only portable speaker launched in Malaysia by Marshall today. The Willen II, by Marshall, also got its local launch as a new and improved successor of the first Willen, which was introduced in 2022.
In terms of external functionalities, it has an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance, and you can submerge it in 1m of water for a period of up to 30 minutes. Additionally, it has a fastening strap that’s attached behind the speaker with its own hook and the speaker can be held or placed in any way pleased.
For the internals, it has a built-in microphone that lets you take calls while being completely hands-free. If anything, you can hold the speaker itself up against your ear and talk to it like a genuine phone. It also features Bluetooth LE Audio-ready connectivity, and it also has audio sharing features with Auracast.
As previously mentioned, the speaker itself has more than 17 hours of portable playtime on a single charge, considering once you charge it for 2.5 hours. Alternatively, you can also charge it for 20 minutes and get a good 5.5 hours of playtime. We should also mention that you can also play around with the speaker’s equaliser using the Marshall that’s available on both iOS and the Google Play Store.
The Willen II will officially hit the local store shelves on 12 September this year, and it will have a retail price of RM599. Moreover, the speaker does come in two colours – black and white, and you can get them via the brand’s official stores on Shopee and Lazada.
