Acer has unveiled a number of products as part of its lineup for IFA 2024, including a pre-built gaming desktop PC and two gaming laptops. That first one comes in a the form of a refreshed Predator Orion 7000, while the latter two are the Nitro V 14 and Nitro V 16.
The Predator Orion 7000 comes with the fittingly named Predator CycloneX 360 system fan, which is paired with a 360mm CPU liquid cooling. The brand says that these can keep the internals of the desktop up to nine degrees Celsius cooler than its prior iteration.
Which it will probably need considering it can take up to an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 GPU. Its potential processors are simply listed as “Intel next gen processors”, which doesn’t narrow things down much. Beyond the CPU and GPU, the Predator Orion 7000 can also come with 5,600 MHz DDR5 RAM of up to 128GB in a 32GB x 4 configuration, and up to 6TB of M.2 NVMe SSD storage. All of these run on a 1,200W power supply, with the tower itself weighing 25kg.
Being a pre-built PC, the Predator Orion 7000 comes with plenty of ports for you to use. In front, there are three USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports and one USB-C 3,2 Gen1 port, while at the back you get two more USB-A 2.0 ports and three USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports, as well as a Thunderbolt 4 port, three audio jacks and a LAN port. You also get built-in support for WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 connectivity.
Moving on to the Acer Nitro V 16, this was first launched a couple of months ago with an AMD processor, so this time it gets a few Intel options instead. These are the Intel Core i7-14650HX and the Core i5-14450HX. As for GPU, you get a choice of an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4060, 4050 or even a 3050.
Memory options go up to 32GB of DDR5 RAM, while storage options go up to 2TB NVMe in RAID 0 configuration. For the display of this iteration of the Acer Nitro V 16, the 16-inch 16:10 1,920 x 1,200 screen with a 165Hz refresh rate is an option. But if you feel so inclined, you can also get one with a 2,560 x 1,600 resolution and 180Hz refresh rate instead.
Moving on to the Acer Nitro V 14, this comes with a 14.5-inch 16:10 screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, with options of 1,920 x 1,200 or 2,560 x 1,600 resolutions. Processor choices here are between an AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS or a Ryzen 5 8645HS, the former of which is also noted to be Ryzen AI-capable. Available graphics options include an Nvidia GeForce RTX 4050, 3050 or even 2050. Memory and storage options max out with 32GB DDR5 and 2TB PCIe 4, but without RAID 0 this time.
Acer has listed the Nitro V 14 and Nitro V 16 as having starting prices of US$1,099.99 (~RM4,788) and US$1,299 (~RM5,659), respectively. Similarly, their availability windows are listed as September and October respectively as well. No details of either for the Predator Orion 7000 at the time of writing, nor any local details for all three.
