Acer has officially launched its new lineup of Copilot+ laptops at IFA 2024. The lineup comprises AI-driven laptops from all the major chipmakers, including AMD, Qualcomm, and Intel’s new Lunar Lake Core Ultra 200V series processors.
To start, Acer is launching two variations of its Swift 14, the Switch Go 14 AI and the Swift 14 AI. The Swift Go 14 AI is powered by the newly announced 8-core ARM-based Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus processor that previously leaked. Specs-wise, that’s two cores less than the previously announced X Plus processor that has 10 Oryon CPU cores, but nevertheless, has an NPU with a performance of 45 TOPS. Other details include a 3.4GHz single-core boost and 3.2GHz for multi-core.
Other hardware specifications of the Acer Swift Go 14 AI include up to 32GB LPDDR5X RAM onboard in dual-channel support, up to 1TB of PCIe Gen4 storage, and a 75Wh 3-cell battery that promises up to 28 hours of video playback or 19.5 hours of general use. On the outside, the 14.5-inch comes in two resolutions: 1,920 x 1,200 and 2,560 x 1,600. Both share the same 120Hz refresh rate.
The Swift Go 14 AI is expected to be available starting this month at a starting price of US$999 (~RM4,348).
Moving on, the Acer Swift 14 AI is the AMD-powered variant of the two, sporting the red chipmaker’s Ryzen AI 9 365 mobile processor. Additionally, the integrated GPU is a Radeon 880M, and the laptop can be fitted with up to 32GB LPDDR5X-7500 RAM, up to 2TB of PCIe 4.0 storage, and 75Wh battery
The Swift 14 AI’s display is 14-inches but comes in three variations. The most premium version is a 2.8K (2,880 x 1,800) OLED display with a 16:10 aspect ratio with Acer’s CineCrystal technology, and a peak brightness of 500 nits. The second option is similar but instead of OLED, you get an IPS panel, slightly lower peak brightness of 400 nits, and 120Hz resolution. The third display option is basically FHD+ (1,920 x 1,200) resolution, with specs similar to the second.
The Swift 14 AI will also be available starting this month and will retail from a starting price of US$1,199.99 (~RM5,233).
Last but not least, Acer is also offering a Swift 14 AI powered by Intel’s latest Lunar Lake Core Ultra 200V mobile processors, as well as a 16-inch variant. Specs-wise, the Intel-based Swift 14 AI will be available in four different CPU configurations ranging from the Core Ultra 5 226V, all the way up to the Core Ultra 7 258V. For its graphics, users will either gain access to the ARC 140V or 130V, depending on the configuration of their laptops.
Moving on, the Lunar Lake-based Swift 14 AI will come with either 16GB or 32GB LPDDR5X RAM, again depending the SKU, and at speeds of up to 8,448MT/s. Other specifications include up to 1TB PCIe 4.0 storage, and a 14-inch OLED touch display with either 3K or 2K resolution. Powering it all is a 65Wh battery which seems small but Intel says is sufficient enough to run the laptop for up to 29 hours on video playback and up to 23 hours of general use.
As for the Acer Swift 16 AI, the laptop will be available in five Lunar Lake CPU configurations but unlike its 14-inch counterpart, it is the only model that ships out with the top-of-the-line Core Ultra 8 288V CPU. Other specifications includes up to 32GB LPDDR5X-8448 RAM, up to 2TB PCIe 4.0 storage, and a 16-inch 3K OLED touch display with edge-to-edge glass. Powering it all is a 75Wh battery.
Acer’s Lunar Lake-powered Swift 14 AI will be available starting this month, while the Swift 16 will only be made available starting October. Pricing for both models start at US$1,199.99 (~RM5,233).
At the time of writing, there is still no word on local availability and pricing.
