Samsung has officially announced the availability of the Galaxy A06, its latest budget smartphone. As expected from what we saw in the leaks from retailers last week, the new phone is significantly cheaper than its predecessor, which is fair given that the two phones are nearly identical in terms of specs.
The main differences between the A06 and the A05 are that the former gets a fingerprint sensor (which was missing in the A05) as well as less RAM. The A06 runs on the same MediaTek Helio G85 chipset paired with 128GB of expandable storage, but with only 4GB of RAM instead of 6GB.
For the screen, the Galaxy A06 sports a 6.7-inch 720p LCD display with a 60Hz refresh rate. On the imaging side, it features a 50MP main camera, a 2MP depth sensor, and an 8MP selfie shooter. Powering the entry-level phone is a 5,000mAh battery with support for 25W charging.
The Galaxy A06 comes in three colour options and retails for RM449. From 6 September to 30 September 2024, purchases of the phone come with a free 25W charging adapter as well as a free one-year extended warranty.
