realme seems to be gearing up to launch at least two new tablets, namely the Pad 2 Lite as well as a Wi-Fi-only version of last year’s Pad 2. Given the names of the devices, we can infer that the upcoming models will be more affordable than the Pad 2, which retails from RM1,299.
The Pad 2 Lite was listed in the SIRIM database on 2 September 2024 with the model number RMP2402. Meanwhile, the Wi-Fi variant of the Pad 2 was certified by SIRIM on 29 August 2024 with the model number RMP2205. With these listings, we can expect the tablets to arrive in Malaysia soon.
Not much is known about the Pad 2 Lite but according to speculations, it might have an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front lens. Additionally, one of its listings confirm that the budget tablet will support 15W charging.
As for the Wi-Fi Pad 2, it was launched in India back in April with the same specs as its LTE counterpart except for the cellular support. It sports an 11.5-inch LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and runs on a MediaTek Helio G99 chipset. Powering the device is an 8,360mAh battery with support for 33W charging.
