Microsoft has announced that starting in November, devices featuring Intel’s latest 200V processors as well as AMD’s Ryzen AI 300 series chips will integrate Copilot+ AI capabilities, expanding beyond Snapdragon X-powered devices. These features include a variety of AI-enhanced tools such as Live Captions for real-time subtitles and translations, AI-driven image generation in Paint, Windows Studio Effects for image editing, and tools like Auto Super Resolution.
Microsoft confirmed that all PCs equipped with Intel’s 200V series chips will receive Copilot+ capabilities for free via a Windows update. To recap, the recently unveiled chip features an advanced neural processing unit (NPU) that can handle up to 48 tera operations per second (TOPS) for local AI tasks. Intel claims these chips are the most efficient x86 processors to date, with 50% lower power consumption and up to 32GB of onboard memory.
Meanwhile, AMD’s Ryzen AI 300 series chips, introduced earlier this summer, will also support Copilot+ in November. These processors deliver up to 50 TOPS for AI performance, with 16% faster overall performance compared to previous generations.
The rollout of Copilot+ began in June with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite-powered devices. This initial batch of Arm-based PCs included laptops and 2-in-1 devices from brands like Microsoft, Acer, HP, Lenovo, Samsung, Asus, and Dell, marking the beginning of broader AI integration in mainstream computing.
