It’s being rumoured that the Sony PlayStation 5 Pro or PS5 Pro may be getting a reveal this month. Even more exciting though, is that alleged leaks of the console’s design have made their way onto the internet.
The alleged PS5 Pro design was first posted by the French outlet Dealabs but is sourced from Jeff Grubb. The image itself was a photo of the console in question but because the site cannot directly share the picture due to copyright reasons, the site has instead provided a drawing of the console’s final look.
The first thing that stands out is the three-line aesthetic cut directly into the middle of the alleged console. The site describes these lines as three black stripes, with the mid-riff expected to be slightly thicker. For that matter, the drawing also appears to show that the console may feature two USB-C ports at the front.
Another detail on the alleged PS5 Pro, or lack thereof, is that the console lacks a physical drive, a sign that Sony may be ditching the medium altogether. That seems highly unlikely though and if the company goes the way of the detachable drive that it did with the “PS5 Slim”, there’s a possibility that it would make the drive compatible with the upcoming console or design an entirely new phone for it.
Specs-wise, there is still no official details of the PS5 Pro’s performance but initial reports are pointing to the console having an AMD APU that runs at 3.85GHz, as well as a GPU based on the more powerful RDNA3 architecture. In addition, the console is expected to be the first to run on Sony’s Spectral Super Resolution upscaling technology.
One of the last points that Dealabs makes is that Sony could make an announcement on the console during the first half of this month but again, that could change, especially since the brand itself hasn’t said anything yet.
