OPPO’s latest innovation, a triple-foldable smartphone, was briefly exposed by the brand’s product manager, Zhou Yibao, on Chinese social media. However, the post was quickly deleted, but not before it was able to provide a glimpse into OPPO’s approach for a tri-fold smartphone. It seems to feature a large, tablet-sized screen when fully unfolded, with a minimal bezel design. The interface seems to include a split-screen setup with a weather and notification panel on one side and an app screen on the other.
The tri-fold design also shows two hinges, which seem to be for both inward and outward folding, and even has a leather cover on the back. The left side of its frame houses the power button, while the right side includes volume control buttons.
Recently, Richard Yu, Executive Director at Huawei, revealed that the company is preparing to launch its first triple-foldable smartphone. The device boasts two hinges and three panels, enabling it to unfold into a tablet-sized screen. Tecno also recently revealed its own triple-foldable concept via Youtube. Now, OPPO seems to want to enter the race.
This introduction may highlight the company’s commitment to pursue its take on the foldable smartphone market as the competition for these devices has somewhat intensified over the past few months.
