Following the recent Pixel 9 launch, new leaks about the Pixel 9a have surfaced, giving a glimpse of what we can expect from Google’s upcoming Pixel A-series device. The leaked images came from a now-deleted post on Facebook but then later caught and shared by ShrimpApplePro on the platform formerly known as Twitter, X, the leaks hint at some potential design features the Pixel 9a could receive.
Based on initial impressions, the images shared are not of high quality and may not fully represent the final product. To that end, Google might opt to eliminate or significantly alter the camera bar found on the mainline Pixel 9 series. The Pixel 9a may also feature a dual camera setup with a glossy ring around the sensors that sits almost flush on the back.

Moving on, the alleged Pixel 9a appears to have a boxy design with flat side rails and a repositioned SIM tray, although the uniformity of its display bezels is still hard to assess just from these leaks. However, the screen edges appear more pronounced compared to the Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro. The device may also include a matte backplate finish with matte side rails, though it’s hard to precisely determine due to the lighting in the images. And the Pixel 9a seems to likely retain the standard SIM slot, USB-C port, and bottom speaker.
While the exact release date remains uncertain, speculation suggests that the Pixel 9a could launch at the “end of this year.” However, this should be taken with a large grain of salt.
