Acer has announced its return to the local tablet market with the upcoming arrival of two Android-powered models under its new “Iconia” branding. The devices in question, the Iconia Tab P11 and the entry-level Iconia Tab A8, are slated to be available in Malaysia this September.
First, we have the Iconia Tab P11, which impressively offers an 11-inch QLED display with 2K resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, and 100% NTSC wide colour gamut. It features an aluminium alloy body, and measures at 8.1mm thin and weighs at 550 grams. Meanwhile, its imaging system consists of a 5MP front-facing camera and a 13MP rear shooter.
Internally, the tablet packs a MediaTek Helio G99 octa-core processor that’s coupled with 8GB of LPDDR4 RAM and 256GB storage, with the latter expandable up to 512GB via microSD. Its battery has a capacity of 8,000mAh that delivers up to 13 hours of playback, and has fast charging support via USB-C.
Next up, we have the entry-level Iconia Tab A8, which is marketed towards children for both educational and leisure use cases. This model offers a smaller 8.7-inch IPS display, as well as a narrow-bezel aluminium alloy body that weighs 400 grams and measures at 8mm thin. For imaging, featured onboard is a 5MP front-facing camera and an 8MP rear shooter.
Under its hood is an All-winner octa-core chipset with 4GB LPDDR4 RAM, 128GB storage, and microSD card support for additional storage space. Meanwhile, powering it is a 6,000mAh battery that’s promised to offer an entire day’s worth of use.
Both the Iconia Tab P11 and Iconia Tab A8 will be available on 1 September 2024, priced at RM1,099 and RM699 respectively. Acer adds that customers can enjoy special discounted prices of RM999 and RM499 respectively for a limited time until 14 September 2024, as well as receive a free casing for every purchase of either tablet.
