Last week, we reported that the Zotac Zone, the brand’s self-named gaming handheld would be coming to Malaysia but didn’t have an exact date. We now know that the console will be launching globally on 12 September.
According to Videocardz, Zotac has already opened up preorders for the Zone, at least within the European Union (EU). The leakster site found that the handheld console was listed in stores located in Germany, the UK, and Poland. As for the preorder price, that apparently sits at an eye-watering €849 (~RM4,121). That’s about the same price as ASUS’ ROG Ally X, which currently retails at an SRP of RM4,299.
As a quick recap: rather than a Z1 chipset, the Zotac Zone looks to indeed be using an AMD Ryzen 7 8840U instead. The GPU in the setup has also been revealed to be a Radeon 780M. Other items in the spec sheet looks to be 16GB of LPDDR5X-7500 RAM, 512GB of M.2 PCIe 4 SSD, and a 48.5Wh battery.
