Samsung has launched its latest additions to its Premiere ultra-short throw (UST) projector lineup, introducing the Premiere 9 and Premiere 7 models. Compared to their predecessors, the Premiere LSP9T and LSP7T, the new projectors are now more enhanced in terms of brightness quality and colour accuracy, as well as enhanced audio capabilities.
The Premiere 9 projector utilises triple laser technology, supporting 4K resolution with an image size up to 130 inches. It also offers a colour gamut coverage of 154% and brightness up to 3,450 ISO lumens. The Premiere 7 also supports 4K resolution but with a lower brightness level and covers 100% of the DCI-P3 colour standard, providing up to 2,500 ISO lumens.
In terms of audio, the Premiere 9 features 40W speakers with Dolby Atmos in a 2.2.2 channel up-firing speakers and Object Tracking Sound (OTS), whereas the Premiere 7 features 30W 2.2ch speakers and Object Tracking Sound Lite (OTS Lite). And the Premiere 9 supports HDR10+, while the Premiere 7 supports HDR10.
Both projectors have Samsung Tizen OS integrated, providing access to smart TV features, including Samsung TV Plus, Netflix, YouTube, and various other streaming services. Samsung Gaming Hub is also integrated, offering over 3,000 titles from Xbox and other sources. They both also feature 4K AI upscaling and Vision Booster, which automatically adjusts colour and contrast to suit different lighting conditions.
The Premiere 9 and Premiere 7 are now available in the US, Canada, and China, priced at US$5,999 (~RM26,102) and US$2,999 (~RM13,049) through their respective online stores. Samsung does have plans to release both projectors in other regions later this year but we have yet to hear about an official release in Malaysia.
