Midjourney has launched a standalone website for its AI image generator. For years now, users could only create AI artwork by interacting with the San Francisco-based research lab’s chatbot on Discord.
The website was originally introduced late last year as Midjourney Alpha, but was only accessible to users who had created over 10,000 images on the aforementioned messaging platform. This launch, albeit delayed, now opens the website to a wider audience, though you still need to register an account in order to use the AI image generator.
The Midjourney web experience is now open to everyone. We're also temporarily turning on free trials to let you check it out. Have fun! pic.twitter.com/rcmP0UD8PV

Speaking of which, new users can sign up through Google or Discord, which also entitles them to a free trial to generate 25 images. Meanwhile, Midjourney is advising existing users to log in with their Discord account to retain access to their previous work, which will be displayed in the “Organise” tab on the website.
Upon logging in, users will be greeted with the site’s “Explore” page, which showcases AI artwork creations by others. Clicking the “Create” button on the side bar will bring up the image generation prompter. There’s also access to built-in Chat function, the aforementioned Organise page, as well as Tasks and subscription pages.
After the trial period, users must pay to generate more images. On that note, Midjourney is offering four subscription tiers, starting with the basic plan at US$8 (~RM34) per month, standard plan at US$24 (~RM104) per month, Pro plan at US$48 (~RM208) per month, and Mega plan at US$96 (~RM417) per month. Each of these differ in terms of fast generation allowance, while only the standard plan and above enables unlimited amount of image generation.
