[UPDATE: 22 August 2024 – 1:30pm]
After making its rounds online thanks to leakster @majinbuofficial via X (formerly Twitter), the source of the so-called “leak”, known as @lorevfx on the same platform, admitted the invite graphic was actually created by him from scratch. Why? Because he was bored.
Despite the deception, @majinbuofficial said he appreciated the effort. The leakster even recommended @lorevfx to anyone looking for graphics related work.
I appreciate your effort though, if you need someone for graphics contact this guy https://t.co/pYeFi7XEJB

In the end, it’s safe to conclude that the details mentioned in the “leak” are false. Even so, industry insiders such as Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman suggests that the event will take place sometime in September, which is Apple’s usual window for its iPhone launches for several years now.

A leaked event invite is suggesting that the launch for Apple’s iPhone 16 series could take place on 10 September 2024. According to leakster @MajinBuOfficial via X (formerly Twitter), this information is provided by an anonymous source and there’s no way to verify its authenticity.
Depicted in the visual is the Apple logo in bronze, while below it is the tagline “Ready. Set. Capture.” It also suggests that the event will be held at the Steve Jobs Theater in Apple Park, and will start at 10am PT (1am local time).
According to what I was told by a source who asked to remain anonymous, the new Apple event where the iPhone 16 will be presented, will be held on September 10 2024.

The tagline used may be related to the iPhone 16 series’ imaging capabilities, while the bronze colour used suspiciously resembles the supposedly new colourway for the Pro Max model that was leaked recently. Of course, all of this is just speculation and there’s a chance that the event invite is fake, so it’s advisable that you take the information provided with a healthy dose of scepticism.
On a related note, rumours are suggesting that Apple will be sticking to its traditional four model line-up for this year’s iPhone release. Dummy units of the vanilla and Pro Max variants of the series have recently surfaced online, revealing a new camera layout for the former and a new hero colour option for the latter. Specifications for all four models are mostly unknown at this time.
Meanwhile, also expected to launch alongside the iPhone 16 in September are Apple’s next-gen Airpods, at least according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. Like before, it is said that the company will launch its third-gen TWS earbuds in two variants: standard and Pro.
