Samsung has recently launched its new Galaxy A06 entry-level smartphone in Vietnam. As you may recall, the device has already appeared in SIRIM’s database last month, indicating that it could also potentially debut in Malaysia soon.
Based on what’s been revealed from its Vietnamese launch, the new Samsung Galaxy A06 offers a 6.7-inch LCD display, which is slightly larger than the one featured on its predecessor. The screen also features a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels, 60Hz refresh rate, and an 8MP selfie camera housed within a tiny notch on top.
Under its hood is a MediaTek Helio G85 octa-core chipset with a Mali-G52 MC2 GPU, up to 6GB of RAM, and up to 128GB of storage. Powering the Galaxy A06 is a 5,000mAh battery with 25W fast charging support via USB-C.
For photography, on its back is a vertical dual camera setup, which comprises a 50MP primary shooter and a 2MP depth sensor. Additionally, the phone comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, loudspeaker, a 3.5mm headphone jack, Android 14 via the latest Samsung One UI, as well as dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity. No NFC, however.
In Vietnam, the new Galaxy A06 starts from VND3,190,000 (~RM561) for the 4GB + 64GB trim. It should also be noted that the phone’s support page has recently appeared on Samsung Malaysia’s website, further solidifying its upcoming arrival to the local market.
