Alongside the non-foldable Google Pixel 9 phones, the internet search giant’s accessories are also making their way into the local market. These come in the form of the Pixel Watch 3 and the Pixel Buds Pro 2.
With more and more smartwatches entering the market, these accessories now are slowly becoming more than just fitness trackers. Which is what we see with a number of additional features on the Google Pixel Watch 3. Among these features include Loss of Pulse Detection, which sounds like health-adjacent, but this is because it kicks in when it detects that your heart is not beating enough to keep you conscious.
When this happens, it automatically calls emergency services, tells them an automated message with relevant info like your location, so that you’ll be found before it’s too late. This is not immediately available worldwide, but the company says it’s working with local regulatory bodies to make it so.
Of course, the Google Pixel Watch 3 still comes with all the usual health-tracking features, and more. That “more” bit includes insights to let you know if you’re not pushing hard enough during your workouts, or going too far. This comes in the form of Daily Readiness, Cardio Load and Target Load.
The Google Pixel Watch 3 comes in two sizes, which are 41mm and 45mm, both being able to swing between 1 and 2,000 nits depending on ambient lighting. Same for refresh rates, going between 1Hz and 60Hz. It comes with a battery saver mode to let it last up to 36 hours while still keeping health-tracking features running.
Locally, the smaller 41mm Google Pixel Watch 3 is priced at RM1,849, While the 45mm model will be priced at RM1,999. During the Q&A session, the company said that it won’t be bringing in LTE models. These will be available starting 10 September. From that date on, it will be available from a number of channels, including Senheng and Urban Republic, as well as e-commerce platforms Shopee and Lazada.
