As we wrote about yesterday, Xiaomi is gearing up to launch a new, smaller tablet called the Redmi Pad SE 8.7. Ahead of the official launch in Malaysia, several retailers have jumped the gun and listed all the specs as well as the pricing of the tablet, which comes in two varieties.
The Pad SE 8.7 has been listed with a starting price of RM599 for the Wi-Fi-only model while the cellular variant, which supports 4G, retails at RM699. Aside from the cellular support, both tablets come with the same internals and ship in three colour options.
You can already guess from the name that it sports an 8.7-inch display, which uses an LCD panel with a 90Hz refresh rate along with a peak brightness of 600 nits and scratch resistant glass for protection. Inside, the tablet runs on a MediaTek Helio G85 chipset paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage.
On the imaging side, the Pad SE 8.7 gets an 8MP shooter on the back while the front houses a 5MP camera. Backing it is a 6,650mAh battery with support for 10W charging. And finally, software-wise, it ships with MIUI 14 based on Android 14.
