It has finally happened. Not long after concluding its Made by Google keynote earlier, the tech giant has officially opened the doors to its online store to local consumers. After all, Google Malaysia will be launching its products in the country for the very first time soon – in a couple more hours, in fact.
Speaking of products, it appears that the company will be bringing more than just the Pixel 9 series to Malaysia. Also listed on its online store are the Pixel Watch 3 smartwatches as well as the Pixel Buds Pro 2, which also launched recently alongside the new smartphones. Unfortunately, Google’s next-gen foldable device, the Pixel Pro 9 Fold, is nowhere to be found.
It should be noted that the web store mainly serves as a catalogue for its locally available devices, with no ability for the user to purchase directly via the site. However, Google does include a list of local retailers on each product page, which directs you to distributors including CelcomDigi, Maxis, Senheng/SenQ, and Urban Republic – all of which have previously confirmed to bring in the Pixel 9 series to Malaysia last week.
The list also includes links to the recently discovered Google Pixel stores on Shopee and Lazada, though both are still empty at the time of writing. Nevertheless, if you’re planning to get your Pixel products directly from the company, these two should help you with that.
Unfortunately, there’s still no mention of the local pricing or availability for all products listed on Google Malaysia’s online store at this time. Oh, and don’t bother clicking the links on the authorised retailers page, as they have yet to be activated.
