Leakster Igor Bogdanov (aka Quadro_News) has shared the alleged release dates for the recently leaked DJI Osmo Action 5 camera series, as well as a new drone known as the DJI Neo (shown above). The latter is rumoured to be a cinewhoop-style drone that’s lighter and more affordable than the brand’s Avata models.
According to Bogdanov, the earliest to debut would be the DJI Neo on 20 August 2024. Based on prior leaks, the new drone allegedly weighs 135 grams and features a 4K ultra-stabilised camera with AI subject tracking and QuickShots, palm take-off and landing, multiple control options, quad propellers with full-coverage guards, as well as a 16-minute flight time. Meanwhile, its Fly More combo is said to come with three batteries.

The leakster adds that arriving much later on 28 August is the DJI Osmo Action 5 series. To recap, the line-up is believed to consist of a base and Pro model, with the latter featuring a 1/1.3-inch sensor with f/2.8 aperture and a 155° field of view (FoV). While the new action cameras share a similar design to its predecessor, leaked images reveal that both models now sport a textured body.
Fellow leakster Jasper Ellens suggests that the DJI Neo may cost around US$329 (~RM1,463), while the pricing for the DJI Osmo Action 5 series is still a mystery for now. It is unclear whether either product will be available for the Malaysian market.
