Xiaomi is gearing up to introduce its latest tablet, the Redmi Pad SE 8.7, to the Malaysian market. Also known as Pad SE 4G, the device is a smaller model of last year’s Pad SE that also comes with 4G cellular support, something that its predecessor lacked.
While its arrival has yet to be officially announced, the tablet has already received SIRIM certification. It was listed on 4 July 2024 with the model number 24075RP89G, indicating that it will be available in Malaysia soon. For reference, it was launched in Singapore last week with a price tag of SGD229 (~RM766).
The Pad SE 8.7 sports an 8.7-inch 1340×800 LCD display with a refresh rate of 90Hz as well as a peak brightness of 600 nits and scratch resistant glass. Underneath the chassis, the tablet runs on a MediaTek Helio G85 chipset paired with up to 6GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage, although the configurations offered here might differ.
Imaging-wise, the budget tablet is equipped with an 8MP camera on the back and a 5MP shooter up front. Powering the device is a 6,650mAh battery with support for 10W charging. On the connectivity side, the Pad SE 8.7 supports 4G, Wi-Fi 5, and Bluetooth 5.3.
