Sonos recently upgraded its TV Audio Swap feature, which originally only featured on the Sonos Arc soundbar. However, it now supports the company’s more budget-friendly soundbars, including the Beam and the Ray. Previously exclusive to Apple users, it can now also be utilised by those with Android devices as well.
Essentially, the feature allows users to transfer audio from the soundbar directly to any of the brand’s headphones via Wi-Fi connection, though the Sonos app is also available for additional tools. The upgrade also includes various bug fixes and addressing issues with the newly redesigned app itself, which has recently faced criticism.
The private listening mode that comes with this feature offers audio options, including spatial audio and head tracking, which can be toggled on or off.
It’s reported that CEO Patrick Spence is expected to address the recent feedback and customer complaints related to the app during an earnings call. He had previously apologised for the app’s issues and it will likely be redesigned completely by fall this year. Sonos is set to release its quarterly earnings report on 7 August, which will likely be closely watched.
