Last month, HMD unveiled the Skyline, its newest mid-range smartphone and the most powerful model under its own brand to date. The device comes with “Gen 2 repairability”, making certain key parts of the phone such as the screen and battery easily replaceable at home.
The mid-ranger sports a 6.55-inch 1080p pOLED display with a peak brightness of 1,000 nits and a whopping refresh rate of 144Hz. Underneath the chassis, you will find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 chipset paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of expandable storage. Additionally, it is fitted with an extra button on the side with a customisable function.
For optics, the phone features a 108MP main camera with OIS, a 13MP ultra-wide lens, a 50MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, and a 50MP selfie shooter with autofocus. Powering it is a replaceable 4,600mAh battery with support for 33W wired and 15W wireless charging. On the durability side, the screen is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 while the phone itself has an IP54 dust and water resistance rating.
The brand teased the arrival of the Skyline last week on its Malaysian Facebook page and it has already listed it on its Shopee store with a price tag of RM2,399. That being said, while it has been listed, the phone is not yet available for purchase.
