The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 has been confirmed to be launching later this year. And with that, an industry leakster has claimed that a number of Chinese phone makers will be the first to adopt the chip. More recently, another leakster has shown a screenshot of the chip appearing on the Geekbench database, though with no identifiers for the device that’s running it.
A screenshot of the listing was shared by Digital Chat Station on Chinese social media Weibo, though a Redditor managed to track down the listing itself. From the listing, we see some base stats of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 gen 4, including two cores being clocked at 4.09GHz and six others at 2.78GHz.
As for its resulting benchmark score on the database, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 gets 2,884 and 8,840 for single-core and multi-core scores, respectively. Not much on their own, but comparing it to scores achieved by the Xiaomi 14, which was among the first to be equipped with its predecessor, there’s an improvement within the ballpark of 30%.
Might be worth mentioning that whatever device it is that is running the alleged Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4, it also has 12GB of RAM. Of course, as the listing itself provides no identifiers for both the exact chip and the phone that’s running it, it’s best to take these with the usual dose of salt.
