Earlier this week, it was reported that Lenovo was planning on making a smaller, more compact version of its Legion Go, dubbed the Go Lite. Well, the company has come forward and outright said that that’s not happening.
In a comment made on the Legion Go subreddit, an individual known as Ben Myers says that the mistake was their handiwork and that all those little details regarding a 7-inch display and dual fan configuration were them just jumping the gun. “I think that was probably as innocent as an FAQ document written at launch last year (that could have used some better proof-reading) being overlooked until someone recently stumbled upon it and jumped to conclusions.”

When it launched, the Legion Go was only available in one size: 8.8-inches, and without its Truestrike controllers attached to it. The gaming handheld was powered by the same AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme that was originally made for the ASUS ROG Ally – it’s also still being used in the Ally X – but outputted at a higher resolution of QHD+. In our review, we found it powerful but still a little buggy. Of course, that was more than half a year ago and we’re certain Lenovo may have made some updates to the consoles.
As for whether or not a new Legion Go is on the way though, Lenovo’s answer is still the same: it’ll release the console when the “timing is right“.
