It’s been a hot minute since we last played with the Lenovo Legion Go. While the brand says that it will release a successor to the gaming handheld when the time is right, there may be signs that it is planning to release a smaller version of it.
The supposed evidence of this is still being listed on the Legion Go product page, where it answers questions and provides answers supporting a smaller version of the console. Specifically, it references a model with a 7-inch display, versus the current model’s 8.8-inch panel. There’s not much else to go on, and we don’t know if Lenovo plans on maintaining the same QHD+ resolution and 144Hz refresh rate, or downgrade them to something more manageable.
On another note, the product page also suggests that future iterations of the Legion Go could come with a dedicated HDMI out port, on top of the two USB-C ports that the console already has. Honestly, it’s not a bad addition, and it certainly would make connecting it to an external display that much easier, instead of having to carry a USB-C adapter around.
Lastly, the Legion Go product page makes mention of utilising a dual-fan configuration, compared to the single-fan design of the current model. Whether or not the extra fan would help is still unknown but suffice it to say, it wouldn’t be groundbreaking engineering, considering that the ASUS ROG Ally, Ally X, and Valve’s Steam Deck all utilise more than one fan to cool down their respective innards.
We’ve reached out to Lenovo for a comment but as of this publication, we’ve yet to hear back from the company.
