vivo has officially confirmed the upcoming availability of the V40 series, its latest mid-range smartphone series. Not only that, but the brand has also revealed the launch date to be 22 August 2024, with a total of two models set to be introduced to the Malaysian market.
The lineup will be comprised of the vanilla V40 as well as the Pro variant. The former has already been unveiled in Europe while only key specs for latter have been teased. Both devices feature Zeiss-tuned camera setups with a strong emphasis on portrait shots.
The V40 sports a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a whopping peak brightness of 4,500 nits. Inside, the mid-ranger runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, with the storage and RAM configurations still being kept under wraps. On the imaging side, it gets a 50MP main camera with OIS, a 50MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP selfie sensor.
As for the Pro, it features the same optics setup as the vanilla model, but with the addition of a 50MP telephoto lens. Both devices are powered by a large 5,500mAh battery with support for 80W charging. When it comes to dust and water resistance, the V40 comes with an IP68 rating while the Pro has an improved IP69 rating.
