A promotional and somewhat official-looking video of the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold has made its way online, giving the first glimpse at the search engine’s latest and direct competitor to Samsung’s Z Fold series. The timing is rather compelling, considering that we very recently reported on the Pixel 9 Series arriving on our shores soon.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold video is in German and less than 40 seconds long but does show us what is to be expected, even if no hardware specifications were given. However, based on Android Headlines, the foldable will have one ability that no other devices in the category can do at current: unfold completely flat, thanks in no small part to a new hinge design.

Fully unfolded, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold could boast an 8-inch main display but again, there are no specifics being mentioned here. Another interesting physical feature is the main camera module. The non-foldable Pro already boasts a triple 50MP system, and this may just look like a quad-camera system divided into two separate islands. Another possibility is that it is still a triple-camera setup, with the fourth ring being a TOF sensor.
Of course, being a Google Pixel device, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold is baked and fully loaded with all of the search engine’s apps and features that one expects of such a device. And yes, that includes Google’s Gemini AI.
The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold is expected to be available in two colours, Obsidian and Porcelain. There is currently no official SRP for the phone but the internet is speculating that the phone may end up retailing for US$1,799 (~RM8,087), the same as the company’s first Pixel Fold which launched last year. We do not know if the search engine plans to bring the phone into Malaysia.
