Not long after CelcomDigi and Maxis, three local tech retailers have also begun promoting the Pixel 9 series’ imminent arrival in Malaysia. The stores in question include Urban Republic by Switch, SenQ, and Senheng – all of which are already hyping their respective pre-order openings for the Google smartphones that’s slated for later this month.
While you can’t place your orders yet, you can register your interest for the Pixel 9 series via each store’s official website. By doing so, you’ll be able to get notified regarding the latest updates or even offers concerning the upcoming line-up. That said, neither store has provided an exact date for their respective pre-order windows just yet.
Speaking of which, we’ve recently discovered that Maxis has now deleted its initial Google Pixel 9 announcement post on X (formerly Twitter). Before its removal, the telco stated the following:
“The Google Pixel 9 Pro is finally making its way to Malaysia! 🤩 Pre-order starts August 14th. Get yours with Maxis and experience the best of @Google! Stay tuned for more details! 🇲🇾✨ #MaxisPostpaid #Maxis5G #TeamPixel #GooglePixel #GooglePixel9 #Gemini @GooglePixel_US“
Maxis has now replaced the post with a new one without mentioning the 14 August 2024 pre-order date, which actually coincides with the series’ global launch. It is possible that the telco may have jumped the gun to announce this, especially given the fact that CelcomDigi as well as the local retailers are only registering public interests at this time. That, or it may have gotten the date wrong.
In any case, we’re likely to find out more once the launch of Pixel 9 series draws much closer. As far as we know, it appears that Google will be launching three models under the upcoming smartphone series for the local market, namely the base Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro XL. It is not known whether the company has any plans to introduce the newer Fold variant or its smartwatches in Malaysia, unfortunately.
