BenQ officially announced the arrival of the Screen Bar Pro in Malaysia. Prior to its predecessor, BenQ’s first Screen Bar was released in 2017 being the world’s first lightbar for monitors. And now its newest model claims to be a complete upgrade in terms of lighting, compatibility, and automation.
One of the enhancements it now features is an ultra wide range of lighting beams, offering an extension of brightness that could light up your whole desk depending on the set up. Additionally, BenQ made quite a few changes to the Screen Bar’s clamp itself, as it’s been redesigned to not obstruct a monitor’s camera lens, even with ultra-narrow bezel monitors just to add on.
The Screen Bar Pro also includes a built-in ultrasonic sensor that automatically activates the light when a person is detected within 10cm of the monitor. To save energy, the light will automatically turn off after five minutes of inactivity. Users can also adjust the brightness settings to suit any personal preferences and comfort levels.
Installation is pretty straightforward thanks to the product’s website that provides an instructional video on how to operate and install it. Available in two colours, black and silver, it’s definitely a lightbar worth considering if you want something that doesn’t interfere with monitor components like the camera, microphone, or speakers. As for power, the lightbar is primarily powered by a 15W power adapter but any USB-C port will that output will do.
Starting 19 August, the Screen Bar Pro will be available for purchase at RM849 through BenQ’s Malaysian online store, while it’s also available for pre-order on both its web store and Shopee if you want to get it at its earliest. For those who don’t want to hurt their bank account too much, a promotional offer will be available from 22 to 24 August, with the lightbar priced at RM699 while stocks last.
